Learning to read Scripture slowly

Teaching Team

A quieter approach that helps the Word move from information to formation.

Key Scripture: Psalm 119:105

Reading more is not always the same as receiving more. Sometimes one sentence of Scripture, given patient attention, can shape an entire day.

Read a short passage several times. Notice the words that hold your attention. Ask what the passage reveals about God, what it exposes in you, and what faithful response it invites.

Read toward obedience

The aim of Scripture is not simply to collect information. God’s Word forms our imagination, corrects our direction, and teaches us how to live.

Finish by naming one concrete response and asking the Holy Spirit for help to practise it.
